Dr. Damaris Felistus Mulwa
Dr. Damaris Felistus Mulwa is a Lecturer at JKUAT, where she teaches and mentors undergraduate and postgraduate students in statistical theory, mathematical modelling, and actuarial science. She is passionate about equipping young people with analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven skills that support innovation, employability, and sustainable development.
As a member of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Risk & Compliance Committee at Empower Skilled Trades Foundation, Dr. Mulwa contributes strong expertise in data analysis, impact evaluation, and evidence-based decision-making. Her work supports the Foundation in strengthening accountability frameworks, assessing program effectiveness, and ensuring that initiatives deliver measurable and sustainable outcomes.
Her research focuses on biostatistics, spatial epidemiology, and mathematical modelling of infectious diseases across Sub-Saharan Africa, where she leverages large-scale datasets to inform public health interventions and policy. She also leads capacity-building and mentorship initiatives, including the WEALTH project, which empowers adolescent girls and young women through data skills and applied problem-solving.
Dr. Mulwa collaborates with leading research institutions and is an active member of professional bodies such as the International Biometric Society and the Statistical Society of Kenya. She brings a strong commitment to integrity, inclusion, and impact in advancing the Foundation’s mission.
